It is a good idea to send 3 or more tires - if one is unrepairable you still get the multiple price. Their process is to remove the entire base tape and stitching, put in a new tube, restitch and base tape. I have been happy with the results although a really elegant tire probably ends up a whisker heavier and lumpier.
I stopped fixing sew-ups for myself or others when these guys came along.
