Hi Jerry.
What they told me is that the drop-out is missing the "stop" (the "b" stop??) which prevents the derailleur from swinging back too far. They showed me the action of a Shimano Deore on the bike stand and the derailleur would not work properly because it kept swinging back into the cogs.
For some reason that Huret doesn't have this problem.
