Hi All,

I found this list having been prompted by one of the contributers. As per the instructions

"is for new members to provide a little profile of themselves: what bikes they have"

So I live in Cambridge (the other one) and about 1500 miles ago I bought second hand, a Carlton which had been converted into fixed. Since Carlton is from my home town of Worksop, I was wondering what sort of bike it actually is.

Apart from the previous description, that the bike is two tone brown/bronze/gold depending on your taste, with half-chromed front forks. It has silver decals (rather than a head badge). The head tube badge decal says "Carlton, Worksop, England", and has the World Champion rainbow bands across it. The seat tube has a silver decal of a man hunched over a bike.

The down tube label is also silver, marked Carlton. There is no model name on the bike that has survived....

The bike is 531 Reynolds butted tubing.

The other markings are on the BB shell. There are two numbers: "R0213LH" and "WA 0007 80" which run the width of the shell. A single letter "S" is also stamped at 90 degrees to the other two numbers.

At best, I'd love to see the original page/spec from the catalogue. At worst I'd love to know the name, model and year of manufacture. I guess the W is Worksop, the A is fortnight 1 and the 80 is the year, thus making it manufactured in Worksop between Jan 2 and Jan 14 1980.

If anyone can supply any more details, please let me know!

cheers

Gareth
