Alfa components appeared routinely in old Zeus catalogs and frequently are found on Zeus bikes including my circa 1970 one. Some Alfa components were lower end, but the brakes (at least on my Zeus) were similar in quality to Mafac or Universal and were often found on pro quality Zeus bikes until they they were supplanted by the Zeus 2000 centerpulls and Zeus 2001 sidepulls, probably in the mid to late 70's. I've alway thought Alfa was just a Zeus model, but they could have been made by another Spanish company very closely allied with Zeus.
