Dear list members, Is there any relationship between Hurlow and Cotton (sp)? I have a cotton with lugs which is virtually identical to a Hurlow which is lugless. The Hurlow was acquired in in the mid-'70s-I believe it originated with Mel Pinto in Georgetown. Proteus design replaced the dropout when a derailleur got stuck. The head tube is somewhat bulged when a gorilla (not myself this time) attempted to smush a too large headset into it. Regardless, the bicycles seem rather similar, for example, the chain stays are short-with inflated tires, there is approximately 5 mm clearance between the tire and the front derailleur clamp, was there a relationship between these makers? Thank you for your consideration.
