Dear Bob & all,

About 6 years ago I sold a complete Follis tandem that had a Juy 52 derailleur on it. The bike had been poorly refinished and had a light patina on all the parts. After paying $1,000 for the bike, the client asked me to remove the front derailleur, and that is all he took.

These derailleurs are rare, and used a unique braze-on fitting that routed both derailleur cables on the right side of the downtube. We do have used Juy 25 and the required braze-on in stock at CyclArt. Even though these could be had for considerably less than the derailleur on Ebay, I do not see any reason to take such a position as Bob's about this sale. It is certainly NOT "the record for the single greatest price ever bid for a component" as he says.

Bob, I do not believe you are correct in your assertion about having a precise replica made for half the price. In fact, I challenge you to do so. If you succeed, I will buy 5 sets.
