I haven't ever had a crank fail as completely as those shown. I guess an individual rider, no matter how much or how many years he has ridden, will never see as many failures as a shop owner does. I wonder how many of the complete failures are the result of crashes or of riding with a bad crack due to not inspecting equipment regularly.
