I think between Phil and Lou they really have this covered in terms of packing. A few more comments. Cannondale used to make (and still may) two types of boxes. One was two halves that fit together and they are like a vault. Another nice packing tool is self adhesive plastic film that comes on a roll from moving stores (U-haul). I find that the easier it is to protect the bike, the better job you do. It is important to remember that UPS is highly automated at the giant sorting centers. It is probably not some gorilla that beats up your shipment, but a conveyor jam, perhaps caused by an awkward size box. So pack for the worst and good luck.

Cirque was awesome. Thanks Dale. Next time I plan to spend more time looking at bikes and meeting people as I brought far too much to sell and that took all my time. Given next years theme I guess I'll bring the keyhole-spade Hetchins and a BSA American path racer because those are my only British bikes.

One final thing- What's the best way to remove decals?
