Like all things some shops do a good job and some don't. I have had two bikes ruined by chrome shops. One polished right through some important details and the other did not neutralize the acids used and the frame rusted from the inside out in a matter of a few weeks. Do get some references and in this case you probably get what you pay for.

I used to do auto restoration and a good bumper repair chrome shop can do a nice job on a bike. Get some references and you had better have some old BB cups to put in place they will chrome threads and everything. It costs about $175.00 in southern CA to get a bike chromed frame and fork. Sam D.
