Indeed, if you've ever used the Campy indexing products that were available at the time those New 600 EX levers were made, you'd know just how great they are... On second thought, wasn't Syncro introduced a year or two after the 600EX indexed stuff? And wasn't it another four or five years before Campy had copied enough of Shimano's design features to make Syncro a usable system? I think this was around the time that Shimano brought a viable integrated brake/shifter to market... a couple of years before Campy. But hey, that's just how I remember it. Campy still rules and all...that's what's on my bikes.
