If I may be so bold.., I agree with (the late), Mr. Confente regarding the white paint. To my eye, white is a perfect compliment to a classically constructed lugged, steel bike, especially a really finely crafted one. With a really nice white paint job there is no "visual noise" associated with many "less boring" colors. The only thing that you read is the workmanship - perfect! BTW, this theory goes out the window if the paint is metallic. Lots of visual noise there, and all of the "softness" is gone too. My 2 cents.., Richard (I like white rooms too), Rose Toledo, Ohio

I would have to say that the non-official color of a Confente would be Imron white with the yellow head tube and yellow and black decals. This was the color Mario painted his personal bikes.
I always thought white was kind of an unexciting color for a bike and once asked Mario why he like it for his bike. His answer was very interesting; he said white made the bike frame look soft like the curves of a Ferrari automobile body.
