I have recently acquired an Eddy Merckx mixte for virtually nothing. It was made by Falcon in the 70s I think. It is a rather low end bike but has great decals of Eddy on the head tube and the seat tube as well as Tour de France and Giro winner decals and it is a novelty if nothing else. It has a GB alloy stem and a set of semi flat alloy bars on it with a set of Diacompe levers. I wonder if these bars are the ones that Mark Bulgier mentioned recently and if anyone thinks these are original to the bike. I am also curious about the levers. I know this is not high end stuff but it is a charming little bike and certainly a conversation piece. I would appreciate any information. Best regards Stuart Ferris
