If you already have up-to-date protection, i.e. the update subscription has not run out, just use that. Installing anti-virus on top of anti-virus can be problematic, especially with Norton, which does *not* really uninstall. That is another of my primary objctions to it. Truly removing it, or any Symantec tool, requires combing through the registry--something akin to giving your average "home mechanic" a spoke wrench ;-)

So, update you definitions, check the default scan settings, and scrub away.
