The Connolly hide food is good stuff. It seems like a thin version of real saddle dressing (R.M. Williams saddle dressing) that I have used for years on horse saddles and bicycle saddles. You may consider using a glycerin saddle soap to remove dirt and such before using dressings.

I'm trying to bring back from the dead an old Swallow type Mansfield saddle. It has hairline cracks in various parts. What is the best way to deal with it?

Also, does cracked leather, like rust, continue to spread even if treated with a conditioner. I am starting to use a generous amount of Connolly's Hide Food which seems more effective than Proofhide.

cheers
