It is kind of amazing how long those Internationals would hold together with just flux and paint. I know a pretty good Cat. 2 racer named Joe Hertel who went a couple of years before the seat lug pulled out of the top tube one race. He really mourned the loss of that bike as he was one dedicated rider and probably had 30K miles or more on the bike. We used to kid him for racing the touring bike, but not too much because he beat us whenever he wanted.
