According to a note in Sutherland's 3rd Edition: "Stronglight cranks bottom on the end of the flat on most axles except Stronglight, TA and Phil." From what I gather from the charts, TA and Stronglight did not make different axles to accomodate the difference between 68 and 70 mm BB axles. The difference is made up in the cups. Campy, Shimano, Sugino and Zeus all made the axles in different widths to accomodate the BB difference. What cups do you have? I'll check my axle inventory.
