I have noticed that Japanese buyers of vintage bikes and parts seem to be more active in ebay purchases from late August to the end of September. Could it be that the weather is better at that time in Japan which helps spur demand?
Concerning the recent eBay auction of a set of SR levers for $150, while an auction listing may bring a high closing price the "deal is not done" until there is money in hand. Kid bidders sometime inflate auction prices and never pay solely for the thrill of bidding. I wonder if the seller really collected the final auction price or if the buyer skipped out...
