Hello Mark -

As you may know, Trek hired Tim in 1979. I understand he redesigned all of their frames shortly thereafter. While there, he developed the methodology and castings to handle 753 in an efficient manner. According to an article in Bicycle Guide, he also designed the first Trek bikes made of some lightweight but (. . .gasp . . .) decidedly non-classic metal.
