In response to message 18 of today's list, about a gentleman who has lost much or all of his inner ear balance mechanism: I believe the upright trike requires almost as much inner ear balance as a two wheeler. If interest in classical bikes draws you to own them, then why not buy and restore them?. You can use your recumbent trike to develop your body and satisfy your sense of adventure, and work with older bikes to satisfy your esthetic nature. I believe that riding a recumbent trike in a safe area is a relatively safe activity. I also believe that upright trikes are deceptively easy to ride. To ride one well and safely requires much from the body's balance system. This is just my two cents worth of wise uncle advise. Garth Libre in Surfside Fl.
