Two of my favorite shops to see when I visit Seattle are:

Angle Lake Cyclery - It's a couple miles from the airport. Great variety of non traditional bikes (Moulton, Greenspeed, etc)

Bikesmith's - In the Wallingford area, lots on used bikes. Maybe you could buy something & sell it back at a lower price when you leave town. You might find something vintage to ride.

A vintage note: Recently on the list people were looking for replacement plastic tips for Silca pumps w/ Campy heads. Once when I was in Bikesmith's, the owner (Val?) was re-tipping some of those little feet using Tool Dip, available at the hardware store for coating thing like tool handles & comes in black & white, maybe more colors. You can dip it several times, letting it dry in between coats, to build up the thickness you want. I don't know how it would hold up (this was the first time Val had tried it) but it looked good.

Another note: I did see & reply to Hilary's message that he was looking for my email address.
