Ok, so I'd thought that mentioning that the BB spindle I'm trying to replace was pre-'78 but maybe I need more info. How do I tell if I need a 68-SS-120 NR spindle for thick or thin cups? What would be the salient measure on the spindle? Outer bearing surface edge to outer bearing surface edge? This measures 49.5 mm on this spindle and is what's listed in my Sutherlands. Is this for thick or thin? Cups are English.
Anyone have a snapshot of what the thick cup look like and what the thin cups look like? I'd put up a shot of mine, but my wife's away with the digicam for the weekend. :-(
