Is the E2 newer than the E or is it just the double eyelet version (like MA / MA2)? Also, do you know whne the hard anodized E2, the G40, came out?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Mavic Module E (410 g, 19.8mm) is single eyelet and the Mavic Module E2 (430 g, 19.8mm) is double eyelet. Available in polished silver or anodized silver.

The G 40 (430 g, 19.8mm) is listed in the 1981 catalog, so I'd say it was available in 1982. Only available in grey anodize; likely the "G" stands for "grey."

The MA 40 (430 g, 20.5mm) is listed in the 1986 catalog. More square section than the previous Mod. E, Mod. E2 and G 40; anthracite grey _hard_ anodized (thicker than normal anodize process) and too new for the Classicrendezvous list.
