I personally like the idea of producing them but without Campy's logo. Perhaps come up with something "kind of" similar in look that doesn't infringe on the trademark and go that route. Or come up with your own logo (and copyright it!). Sure, they won't be a perfect match for restoring a vintage bike but they'll keep users of Campy's classic brake levers happy as a source of a viable replacement.

    It's a Trademark issue, not a Patent issue. Another comment:
     Brian mentioned quality control. That must be the
     issue for Campy. They probably don't want to be
     monitoring the quality of parts made in small numbers
     by someone in his garage 6000 miles from Vicenza.
     So they can't really give their permission. What's
     sad is that they won't contract their usual supplier
     to produce the things.
