Hello all

I have been asked by the organizers of the Huntington Beach Concours d' Elegance car show to extend an invitation to all CR members in southern California who wish to participate in a concours for bicycles on June 2nd. This event is held on the grounds of HB Central Park, adjacent to the main library, for which this event is a fundraiser. The principal organizer, Bart McGraw, is a vintage bike enthusiast and British ex-pat who would like to see a nice turnout of quality bikes (our type, not balloon or sting ray although any preWWI are encouraged as well). I have been to 8 or 10 of the previous events and the class of cars and motorcycles exhibited is excellent, everything from the horseless carriage era to factory works cars like Porsche 917s & 906s and everything in between. Jay Leno usually shows up and you know what kind of car nut he is. This year's featured marque is Aston Martin, so all us DB4 5 & 6 fans will have something to long for. Ariel Motorcycles will also be featured in salute to their 100 year anniversary. The link to the website is http://www.hbconcours.org . The entry fee is $6 per bike and the entry form can be downloaded from the site. Bart asks that entry forms be submitted soon so they can anticipate the turnout of bikes and set aside the appropriate amount of lawn space. Since this is the first year for showing bikes, it would be nice to have a good sized turnout so that our bikes can be invited back for future events. You can contact me offlist for further details.
