Other than tools, and being capable of assembling the world's largest collection of bungie cords (makes one wonder how well they work, huh?), my two finds were: $120 scattered along about a mile strip of highway. Started with a twenty dollar bill, got back on the bike, pedalled a bit, and another twenty, until I had $120. This, of course, caused me to return to where I began to find them, and spent about an hour scrounging for more, but still was happy with the $120. And on a recent bicycle tour a couple of weeks ago, while on a bicycle path in Michigan, one that comes very close to Big Rapids, Michigan, there was a ditched bike. My brother and I examined the bike, and it appeared to be a repainted Frejus with 1973 NR components. We thought about stripping it, but decided against it: miles to go before we slept that night, and the thought of taking the extra time and of adding the extra weight argued more for leaving it than any sense of honesty. For all I know, it could still be there: we stood it right along the path.

And for those of you have found the Herses: I'm not sure, but I'm pretty sure they were mine. I think I lose them where you found them, and I will take them back now.

Cheers.

Tom
