Thanks Mark,

I don't know how to reply to this, but I can give some background if it is wanted by the group. I saw and participated in a lot of bicycle development in the past 30 years. Do you guys want some history?

Welcome Mr. Merz! There's not just interest in your era, but quite a lot in your frames, too. (In case any of you don't know, Jim made some of the prettiest frames of all time - amazing workmanship. I hear rumors they ride good too, but I never got on one.)

The chainrings have gotten a bit of chatter here recently too. Gonna make some more 31 tooth rings for Campy triples any time soon? ;^)

I know anything you'd care to share about those days would be eaten up here - how you got started, your influences, your philosophy and building techniques, bike biz gossip... I think a lot of what transpired after you joined the Special Ed crew would be on-topic here too.

I hope you don't mind me asking in front of everybody. It's OK if you don't want to write us your life story, I just wanted to encourage you in case you might feel like it.
