I have a pair of 49-like cranks in steel but there is nothing on them to indicate model number. They are marked V.P. and 170 and OO on the inner faces. I would be interested to know if they are designated 49A and what the years of manufacture of these cranks were. The Stronglight engraving on the faces says Competition and Marque Deposee, just like the 49D's. Except that they are cotterless, the arms are very similar to Stronglight steel cranks of the fifties.
