It was some sort of a campagnolo equipped club bike. It had nice angles and looked fun to ride. I engaged the owner in conversation and asked him about it. He could not offer much information, other than it was his brothers bike. Does anyone know about these bikes? Who imported them, what did they cost, are they still in business? R.E.W. Reynolds was the proprietor of a shop of the same name, at 159-161 Wellingboroough Road, Northampton, NN1 4DX, England. Before the bike boom (late 60s, early 70s) he was the lifeline for many of us, having access to things we couldn't get from Cyclo-Pedia. I still have a little of my correspondence with him, but not much. Over a decade, I just sent (via airmail) US checks, and kept a slightly positive or negative balance with him. Supplied lovely touring/racing black leather shoes in very large sizes, odd TA bits and pieces, etc. I'm quite convinced that the frame sets were provided by an outside contractor; I never saw but one or two. They were custom-built to buyers' spec, and rather mainstream British designs (although i vaguely remember a fastback stay option!). The only person I knew who actually met Mr. Reynolds was Ralph Galen, a retired dentist from Boston who did an extensive solo on a tandem. His primary remark was that Reynolds' teeth were not in very good condition...

Thanks for waking up some memories!
