I can't really speak to collectability, but I put in a season a number of years ago on a Della Santa frame. It was the finest frame I have ever ridden. Gave it away to a junior, for which I am still kicking myself.

And on a totally unrelated subject, I have both seen and personally experienced bearing retainer failure with Campy bottom brackets. The retainers turned into chunks of shrapnel and played merry hell with the rest of the bracket. Personally, I am against any and all retainers anywhere except perhaps the headset. (I spent several years insisting on using loose bearings in the headset, and finally gave in. One can only spend so much time chasing microscopic steel balls around the garage floor before deciding that there are worse things than occasional retainer failure.)
