All the terms have been loosely applied over the years... "Bronze welding" was a commonly used reference to what we call filet brazing.. "Silver soldering" for silver brazing. In each case I think it was partiallly an attempt to differentiate the variances in heat ranges and joint heating time spans. Everyone knew what it meant in those particular circles... IMO not much difference from saying that abrasive paper is being used for "leveling" when others say "sanding."
