Brian, I learned my lesson about keeping my hands on the bars at about 20 mph. No crash but a very good scare as I was near the centerline with on coming city traffic. Also, I have found that using aero bars at speeds in excess of 45 mph is risky. My trike began to shimmy badly during a descent on the Hardscrabble Century ride while I was using the aero bars. As soon as I moved my hands to the drops the shimmy went away.
