   catastrophic about to occur? >> If it was unwarped before and you've noticed a change over a relatively short period of time, the hub is in pre-failure mode, i.e., they aren't designed to warp. If ANYTHING on a bicycle breaks while you are riding it, there is potential for a crash and injuries. Court "Lady Luck" on something else and change that hub out. Stevan Thomas Alameda, CA
