I think the really rough looking cable clamping blocks were for Victory/Triomphe. The Record/S Record had changed over to a countersunk design with the script logo. The later non-countersunk were like those on the block logo Record/S. Record, but they were poorly finished. I'm pretty sure they were intended for the Victory/Triomphe stuff. This is not to say that Campy didn't lower their standards of finish in some areas as time went by. The also improved the finish in other areas. I won't get to deep into this but for example between the older and new cable clamping blocks for brake calipers. Older ones will have a much nicer finish and the newer are like a piece of pot steel with sharp edges. The same goes for most of the other Campagnolo small parts.

So compare with another.

BC Baron Corpuz....................And the gang!!.............With roll-aways full of Campagnolo small parts.

There may have simply been two sources for the washers, with Campy switching back and forth over time. The only "significant" difference among SR front ders that I've even noticed is in the size of the logo stamped on the outside of the cage. There are two sizes. One of the sizes (I can't recall which) is the same as the logo on my 4-hole NR front, so I assume this is the earlier logo. Based on a discussion with Mr. Maasland (sp?) last week, the size of the logo may have changed when a worn die was replaced.

Other than the minor logo change, I consider all SR fronts to be the same. If someone can decipher the significance of the cast-in markings, please let us know.
