I agree with Mark. It doesn't seem like he's referring to the difference between the levers, just mentioning the group. I suspect he's a CR member and reading this. Anyway... Mark, the early SR levers are not only rare, the simply don't exist. At least that's the word from E-Ritchie and Greg Parker. One listmember said he had set, but they were dismissed as faux. Apparently they were carefully drilled and countersunk and then reanodized. That is, they were not pierced, by the owner's description. I actually think even those could be very, very early factory production, where they were simply taking the Records into the mill. Seems expensive, process-wise, but you never know with brand-C. I have at least as much trouble imagining someone doing the anodizing later on. But again, who knows? I actually thoght it was you who had the drilled levers. If not, it was the other Campy-expert Mark, Mark Boral. Tom Dalton Bethlehem, PA Mark Bulgier <mark@bulgier.net> wrote: Brad Stockwell wrote:

Hi Brad,

I'm intrigued by your post, curious about what you're getting at. I thought his auction description was pretty straightforward except for "a certain Vintage bicycle discussion group", I did wonder why he didn't just name CR there.

It does seem like there's one early shape lever and one later shape, is that what you're hinting at? I didn't have any inkling the seller realizes that, or maybe he was just too subtle for me.

I forget, was the early shape, in a perforated SR lever, supposed to be rare? I know we just discussed this but I guess I didn't pay enough attention...
