The NR and SR fronts with the three-holed cage were the first to be offered with a braze-on option. I think they first appeared in the 1982 catalog. Interestingly, the SR differed only in the black anodized arms and was initially only available with the group or possibly in combination with the rear and shifters. I don't recall exactly. It's all spelled out in the catalog; whether that's how it actually happened is another matter.
