CRs:

I've used both the 1/A and the XA without problems. My 1/R did let the handlebars slip too often. I'm light at 150 lbs, so I concur with the 1/R display only.

However, I'd like to mention one additional stem nuance: available maximum height.

My previous experience is that the Cinelli 1/A allowed me to put the bars about 4 or 5mm higher at maximum height than an XA (both stems were size 13).

I've cross-checked this by mounting two stems on one (junk) handlebar, side by side. I set the stem shafts to be parallel and compared the relative heights of the bottom (cone) end.

I've also found some variability in the markings of the MAX line, so I'd check the stem that you will use. The minimum insertion depth (max line to bottom of stem shaft) is typically specified at 6 cm. In most cases this will put the bottom end of the stem at least 1.5 cm below the start of the fork threads.

I've found similar variabililty in 3ttt stems, where the Record 84 stem runs about 3mm shorter and 5mm lower that a Cinelli 1/A, while the newer Status stem runs about 3mm longer (and I think 3mm higher).
