Sorry, we carried the chain polishing thread into absurdity. Those metallic cartridge reloaders in the group will know exactly what they are, while the remainder may be clueless. If you shoot a lot, there's a good chance you re-load your shells. Part of the re-loading process is cleaning the powder residue from the brass shell casing.
These gizmos are filled with crushed walnut shells (or other medium). Cases go in nasty, get vibrated in the medium for a bit, and come out with a mirror polish. The same gizmos are used for polishing other things like stones. I've never actually done a chain in one -- it might be more trouble than it's worth. I recently made some classic era nipples look like new; however, it took forever to dislodge the impacted medium from the threads.
