Subject: [CR]Eisentraut Rainbow on ebay (warning)

Doubtless many of you have noticed the white Eisentraut Rainbow on ebay. I have tried to buy this bike on its first two times through ebay, and am no longer interested due to the bizarre behavior of the seller, and most pointedly, his incredible rudeness. I might also characterize his behavior as evasive and uncooperative. I'll tolerate most human iniquities, but bad manners is not one of them.

I ultimately backed out due to his belligerent incivility after I had agreed to buy the bike at 2X the highest bid in auction #2. During those times he was misrepresenting the bike as a '75 A model. Although I knew it was a Rainbow from the blurry, grainy images and the physical description, I still wanted the bike. After I declined the deal, the seller said "Fine, I have somebody who wants to pay more anyway". A few days later its back up for auction and the seller has a new handle and dark glasses.

Over the past 2 years I have purchased 12 bikes via bay. I have gotten some wonderful deals, (Fuso, Colnago, Marinoni) I have been cheated, (Benotto)and everything in between. Each time I have been treated with courtesy and cooperation.

I would approach this one with caution

Glad I sat this one out in Whiskey Hill, CA
