Everyone who sees it onsite (I haven't been there) reports that it is absolutely authentic, obviously placed in the crotch of the tree so long ago that the tree's growth has engulfed it.
I'm sad to report that this bike used to have its fork and handlebar, which appear now to have been stolen. Who would do a thing like that?
