Like Brian, I am also very saddened by this latest turn of events on the CR list. I viewed Ken's return to the list as an example of the restraint, tolerance and acceptance that I thought had become the foundation of this list. I was looking forward to new discussion being generated by Ken's knowledgeable contributions and unique perspective. I'm saddened that the CR community often can't "turn the other cheek", bite their collective tongue, and just "let it go" for greater good of all members.

I'm a charter member of this list. I witnessed it's birth. I marveled as it developed and took shape through it's infancy. I watched it struggle as it matured and grew, trying to figure out what it wanted to be. I endured the troubled times, when it became unruly, belligerent and self destructive. I watched, very saddened, as it's creator had to remove it from life support. I rejoiced when it awakened from it's coma with new life and balance and discipline. And now for the longest time, I've enjoyed it's maturity and tolerated it's quirkiness, it's diversity, it's shortcomings. And it's great wisdom, insight and experience. Now I'm not sure what turn it's taking. Is it becoming old and tired or just self absorbed and cranky? What's it's future going to be?

Brian's right. Maybe it's impossible for all the components that make up this entity to really get along, but can't we find some way to peacefully coexist?

Surely there must be a way.
