My comments about the Masi GC handling much better than the Colnago CX have been taken by some in this group as a 'knock' on the way Colnagos in general perform. I should have qualified that statement in my earlier observations: The other vintage and current Colnagos are fine handling and riding bikes. The early 80s Colnago I have with the same gruppo (SR) handles very, very well, right up there with my 80s De Rosa and my 83 Tommasini. My 2003 Colnago Master X-Light is a fine, fine ride. Perhaps the best thing to be said was that the Oval CX is simply not the best idea Colnago ever had, and while it is a rare bike, and a joy to look at and ride on occasion, to quote Clint, a 'man has got to know [its] limitations'.
