Er. . . you're crazy. Actually I think this is one of those things where it all depends on where you live. Fresno I can see. When I lived in Bloomington, Indiana I rode a fixed with no brakes without any problems. Even in towns like SF and Seattle you can do it if you so just the right direction and the right route. I can say there are at least two guys in Seattle that have had extensive knee surgery from riding Capitol Hill and downtown brakeless. On the other hand I used to do lunch time rides in Hellvue and the East side on a brakeless fixed when I worked there. If I can bring an earlier thread into this one I'd say the Modolo Kronos "brakes" make fine speed modulators for city fixed gears.
