David Feldman writes: <Carlton Flyers used to be sold with Weinmann Vainquer centerpulls after about 1968 and I think GB's before.  Most that I have seen share two features; a GB stem drilled and fitted with a cable adjuster and indestructible cast plastic white Carlton lever hoods.>

My Flyer was purchased from the original owner who said that he bought it in 1965. The Campy hubs are dated 1963 and so are the Weinmann Vanquier 999 brakes. These are the only Weinmann brakes that I have seen with a date on them. The others from earlier (with the 999 stamped in) and later (with the decal) have no dates. Has anyone else seen this? It's stamped on the back of the pivot arm next to the size designation (610 or 750).

David is right about the stem and those incredibly indestructible hoods!
