Yo... As I continue to experiment with different pedal systems, I tried out my first pair of clipless pedals. They came on a Goodwill bike rescue, a pair of Coda pedals with the shoes attached. So, I tried 'em out riding the 15 to & 15 miles back from work yesterday. Having absolutely no knowledge or experience with the clipless system -- maybe I was doing something wrong or pehaps these aren't a good example. I didn't like 'em. My feet weren't very comfortable. The shoes seemed to fit however the outer side of my foot muscles from the baby toe back to the heal always seemed to be straining. 1/2 way to work I did stop & adjusted the things on the shoe because I was toed in. Got my feet going more parallel to the bike however it didn't relieve any of the strain. I had trouble locking in however I did get better at it on the return trip due to the practice. There was some wiggle room even though I was locked in. The pedals are about the size of a roll of Scotch tape and I'm thinking the wiggle room may been a factor -- sloppy contact with the shoe? Also, one side was easier to release than the other. I noticed some allen screw on the pedals, is this for tighting the springs? Anyway... what'd ya think? Thanks, George (los angeles)
