I have a document I wrote a few years ago about packing a bike for shipment. When negotiating purchase of a bike that will be shipped, I usually try and send this to the seller, whether he or a shop will be doing the packing. I always figured that anything that promotes care in packing is a good thing. If nothing else, they generally get the point across that I am concerned about the safety of the bike during it's journey. I sent the doc to Tim when he posted the query that started this thread. If anyone else would like a copy, I'd be happy to send it. If there's enough interest, I could paste it into the body of an email to the list.
