Many thanks, Dale, Harvey and Steve, for insights about wheels!

Now, number of holes (drillings) of hub. It is clear to me that number of spokes decreased as strength of "rims" increased. I have many 60's wheels with 32/40h. These are not for tandem as I understood. I like looks of small(low) flange 32/40h wheel laced 15/16 DB spokes.

Then, I do not like looks of 32/32 or 28/28 with fat straight 14G so forcely pulled eyelets of moder rims! These wheels seems appear in late 70's to early 80's.

When did 36/36h hubs become main stream, and went out??

I suppose 28/28 (even 24/24) are meant to be used for track.

KEN TODA, in Hihg Point, NC, still counting numbers of holes for matching rims and hubs
