The year 1983 makes a great deal of sense , as a cut-off date .
Considering the various aspects of the bicycle industry , the year 1983 makes a great deal of sense , as a cut-off date .
Beyond all of the hardware & components issues , 1983 was the year that Tulio Campagnolo passed away .
I was wishing and hoping that you might keep 1983 as a cut-off date .
HOWEVER ,
1.) a number divisible by 2 , or by 5 , looks much better - 1984 , 1985 .
2.) several people already have their hopes up about next year , or the one after , when they want their own bicycles to be included .
3.) 1984 is a number which does stick in people's memories .
4.) 1984 was an Olympic year ( admittedly it was one of the two "limited-reduced" Olympic years , but it was an Olympic year ) .
5.) 1985 was the introduction of C-Record ( according to the Campagnolo Timeline - thanks Chuck ) .
6.) 1987 was the last year that Super Record was produced ( according to the Campagnolo Timeline - thanks Chuck ) .
Any of the mentioned years , 1983 , 1984 , 1985 , 1987 , would make a GREAT deal of sense to me , to use as the last year , the cut-off point .
And thanks Dale ! Your garage is nice ( if we promise to behave better , can we be allowed back in the living room ? ) . Are you sure you're supposed to keep your cans of Pepsi right here on this shelf , in-between your big can of acetone , and your big can of M.E.K. ? And hey , where'd you get this Varsol ?
