Bryon, I presume you drilled two holes in the dustcap and used a pin wrench to remove it? As to the crankarms, I guess you missed a thread on this a week or two ago. Old Stronglight cranks before 1982 used a 23.35mm extractor thread. Modern cranks usually use 22mm. TA Cyclotourist uses 23.0mm. List member Sheldon Brown, among others, sells 23.35mm extractors for old Stronglight. Be sure you buy the proper extractor from Sheldon or elsewhere. Don't try to use a TA 23.0 extractor or the TA end of an older Park double-ended extractor. The TA is close enough that it seems to fit, but it will often strip a Stronglight crank. If this crank were on a French bike, you'd have some more surprises in store in terms of the BB and pedal threads, but if it is original equipment on a Raleigh, it is probably English thread, which is "normal" on moden bikes.

> thanks for the help on removing the dustcaps. I then went to remove the crankarms and my crankarm pullers are too small to fit the seemingly oversized crankarm thread (I can just pop the entire threaded part of the tool in without touching the crankarm threads). Can anyone suggest a tool to use to remove these crankarms? Also, will a modern crankset fit onto the bottom bracket that the Stronglight crankset was attached too.
