Received the Frejus track bike I bought on E-Bay a few weeks ago. Some of you saw this auction. The rear dropouts were not shown. Well it is, indeed a track bike. Frame repainted metallic blue back in the '70's, but in perfect shape, no dings just a few normal chips. Very nice bike, the serial is 106136. looking at the Frejus serial number list it looks like 1963. The guy I bought it from bought it used from Jerry Pearce at the Rainbow Jersey in Milwaukee in 1971.
It came with wheels with Phil Wood track hubs, flip flop rear. UPS poked a hole in the box and the end of the rear axle was exposed, so the allen bolt that holds the wheel on spun off and was lost. Anyone have a source for these? Can't ride the bike without it. Also need a 1/8" track chain.
Other components are: Sugino crank (with extractor), Zeus track pedals with clips, Laprade SR seat post, Campagnolo headset and bb. Also a plastic Unicanitor saddle that I'll never use. Wheels were built by Cupertino in the '70's, rear is tied and soldered.
No stem or bars were included (I have those). The fork is drilled for a brake, so I'm looking for one.
I've never owned or ridden a track bike, so I'm looking forward to getting this one together and trying it out. When it's rideable, I'll get some pictures posted.
