John -- concerning the sold 1972 Masi:

I notice that the white cloth handlebar tape is augmented by several wraps of a different kind of tape to cover the brake-lever clamp bands. Is it the same plastic tape that is used as finishing tape?

This is the third time I've seen photos of a Masi that had factory handlebar tape, and all have had the secondary tape around the brake-lever clamps (as well as the grey plastic brake housing tether).

This is just the kind of detail one needs to consider for a tediously thorough restoration.
